A Unique Concert

The concert is part of a tour by a group of 20 children and young people with special needs from Latvia. They are the choir from the organisation “Nāc Līdzās”,  which means “Come Along”. Details of the charity can be found at http://www.naclidzas.lv/en . The “Come Along” Foundation helps children and young people with disabilities integrate into society and supports their parents’ understanding of the problems they face.

The concert will feature choral pieces and solo performances by the young people. The event is also in honour of Latvia’s centenary and is supported by the Latvian Welfare Trust – a UK based charity.

The French writer and poet, Antoine de Saint-Exupery, wrote: “It is only with the heart that one can see rightly; what is essential is invisible to the eye.” That quote has become the watchword of the “Come Along” Foundation and of the choir.

Latvia has a great choral tradition and this unique group of children and young people have a sound that is all their own.  Please come along!
