Whether you’re celebrating a special occasion or simply catching up with friends and family, Afternoon Tea is a delicious treat that should be enjoyed at every available opportunity!
Why Afternoon Tea?
This most delicious of repasts originated not far from Catthorpe, at Belvoir Castle near Grantham in Leicestershire. The Duchess of Bedford is widely credited as having transformed afternoon tea into a late-afternoon meal, during a visit to the castle in the 1840’s and by the end of the nineteenth century afternoon tea had developed into the modern day form of sandwiches, scones and cakes, served with freshly brewed tea.
At Catthorpe Manor Estate afternoon tea retains all the best elements of the traditional fare, but with a number of indulgent twists and offers a perfect balance of savoury and sweet treats to keep you going until supper time.
Afternoon tea at the manor can be enjoyed in the Linden Tree Restaurant, the Drawing Room on the Terrace in the warmer weather or, for special occasions, why not hire one of our beautiful private dining rooms?
